Nintendo: 12; Dooce: 0

Well, someone at Nintendo has got to be pretty happy right about now. See, they got Dooce to mention the Wii in her blog.

And that would make the day of any social media person.

But, as if that wasn’t good enough, she also mentioned Nintendo three times. And she mentioned their newest product, Wii Fit, eight times.

That’s twelve mentions of wholesome goodness on a blog that averages 40-50,000 viewers daily.

Twelve mentions surrounded by words of love, like ”… good people from Nintendo …” and “… this is a product I use, something in my house, something I’d love to share with you.”

If I wore a hat, I would take it off to Nintendo for a flawlessly executed social media strategy.

And as for Dooce, who did not accept one red, hot dime for this? I’m torn between wanting to teach her about the value of brand so next time she will accept a little contribution of, say, several thousand dollars for what amounted to an online ad or admire her for the bucks she is surely generating in ad revenue with the 42,000 give or take comments her Nintendo post generated.

Actually, I have a better idea. I have this client who would be great in a contest and …
